3. Tomas Satoransky, Combo Guard

Back in the 2012 NBA Draft, the Washington Wizards wound up with a solid find with the 32nd overall pick in 6-foot-7 and 200 pound Czech combo guard Tomas Satoransky. It took Sato a while to make his NBA debut, which came during the 2016-17 season, but it was somewhat worth the wait in the nation’s capital.

In three seasons with the Wizards, Sato was pretty productive but never really got to live up to his true potential. His best season with the Wizards was his last. He played in 80 games during the 2018-19 season with the Wizards (starting in 54 of them). During the 2018-19 campaign, he averaged 8.9 points per game, 3.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.2 blocks.

In terms of per game stats, the most productive season for Sato in his four years in the NBA was with the Bulls during the 2019-20 campaign. Sato played in every single one of the 65 games the Bulls had prior to the novel coronavirus pandemic-induced season hiatus. He averaged 9.9 points per game, 3.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.1 blocks.

But this wasn’t necessarily the most efficient season for Sato in terms of the advanced metrics. He registered a -1.2 box plus/minus rating, 0.4 value over replacement player rating, .090 win shares per 48 minutes, 111 offensive rating/112 defensive rating, and a 53.3 true shooting percentage. Maybe Sato can start out the 2020-21 season better than he finished this year.
