The constant comparison between the best big man that Jordan ever played with during his run with the Bulls will rage on amid Rodman and Grant. But the latter of the two was more of a traditional star big man, he just didn’t fit the long-term role the Bulls were looking for him to. Grant wound up departing the Windy City and joining up with the Orlando Magic to fulfill his prime years in the NBA.

He played for seven seasons each in a Bulls and a Magic uniform. There were also two seasons that Grant played with the Los Angeles Lakers, and one with the Seattle SuperSonics. Grant finished out his NBA career with the Lakers during the 2003-04 season.

But Grant was picked by the Bulls with the 10th overall pick in the first round of the 1987 NBA Draft. He was one of the big hits that Krause had during his tenure as the Bulls general manager. Grant would go on to become a one-time NBA All-Star selection, four-time All-Defensive Team selection, and four-time NBA Champion.

Moreover, the three most efficient seasons that Grant ever had came with the Bulls. His three best seasons in terms of win shares per 48 minutes and box plus/minus rating came with the Bulls. And his two best in terms of player efficiency rating came in the Windy City.

The best individual season that Grant had in terms of raw efficiency was in 1991-92. He registered a 5.3 box plus/minus rating, 20.6 player efficiency rating, 5.2 value over replacement player rating, 61.8 true shooting percentage, .237 win shares per 48 minutes, 2.9 block percentage, and 16.3 rebounding percentage.
