Former Chicago Bulls to root for in Orlando: Robin Lopez

Robin Lopez spent three tough years in Chicago but was the consummate professional during those three years — no matter how tough the times were.

During RoLo’s first season in Chicago, he had to deal with the whole “Three Alphas” thing. You know, the Rajon Rondo, Dwyane Wade, Jimmy Butler experiment. They ended up making the playoffs, but it wasn’t pretty. It was a tough season to watch.

Then, Lopez had to endure two seasons of a tedious rebuild while he was in his prime. The team had little to no success, but Lopez proved to be a valuable asset during those two seasons. He had fancy footwork in the post. He made it tough on opposing teams to get rebounds. He was often the toughest guy on the court. And above all else, he was a fantastic teammate.

I miss seeing Robin Lopez in a Bulls uniform, but it’s awesome to see him competing for a title in Milwaukee.
