The Chicago Bulls jersey that legend Michael Jordan wore in Game 7 of the 1998 Eastern Conference Finals recently appeared on the auction block.

The all-time greatest player in the history of the Chicago Bulls, legendary shooting guard Michael Jordan, had a lot of celebration and praise heaped around him lately. That is partly due to the nostalgia surrounding the recent release of the 10-part ESPN/ABC/Netflix docuseries highlighting the 1997-98 Bulls title-winning team called “The Last Dance”. And the other part is due to the lag in actual NBA game action to follow in the midst of the novel coronavirus pandemic-induced season hiatus.

One of the best ways for basketball fans to pass the time, especially in Bulls nation, is watching replays of the best Jordan games from the dynasty years. There are so many great games to enjoy from the Jordan years that it’s hard to digest all of them, even with no basketball on right now.

The nostalgia fans can realize from the Jordan years surfaced in a different way earlier this week. According to a TMZ report from June 17, one of the most recent jerseys Jordan wore in a game for the Bulls appeared on the auction block. Goldin Auctions apparently sold the jersey that Jordan wore in Game 7 of the 1998 Eastern Conference Finals win over the Indiana Pacers for a price in the neighborhood of half-a-million dollars.

While that is pretty insane for an auction of a sports jersey to finish at, it shouldn’t shock most Bulls fans. MJ is a global icon that changed the game of basketball forever and his Game 7 win in the Eastern Conference Finals over the divisional foe Pacers was one of the most notable moments near the end of his NBA career.

Jordan and the Bulls would go on to beat the Hall-of-Fame combination that was point guard John Stockton, big man Karl Malone, and the Utah Jazz in six games in the 1998 NBA Finals. That handed Jordan and the Bulls their sixth title of the 1990’s.
