Which 2020 NBA Draft targets of the Chicago Bulls would be worth trading up in the lottery for if they don’t catch a lot of luck?

Entering the 2020 offseason, the Chicago Bulls have a lot on their plate. They have a new look front office regime, headed up by the former Denver Nuggets general manager Arturas Karnisovas and ex-Philadelphia 76ers VP of player personnel Marc Eversley. Karnisovas is replacing John Paxson as the lead voice, and executive VP of basketball operations. And Eversley is replacing Gar Forman as the next general manager.

Up next for the Bulls could be figuring out what to do with head coach Jim Boylen. And once they have the coaching staff figured out and the free agency plan is pieced together, the offseason work can be rounded out in the 2020 NBA Draft. But how those first two tasks go will greatly determine how the Bulls piece together their draft strategy.

If, by some miracle, the Bulls are able to snag an actual star in free agency or via the trade block, then the NBA Draft changes. But, in all likelihood that they don’t get a star prior to the draft, the plan should be to find a possible new face of the franchise, or a piece that builds up the supporting cast around another one. There’s still a chance that someone like center Wendell Carter Jr. or point guard Coby White blossoms into a true star.

If the Bulls get the opportunity to land a star in this draft class, they would have to likely trade up into the top two or three draft picks. Depending on where they land on lottery night, it might take a trade to make that happen. It might be worth it, though, depending on who they could get and what price it came at.

Here’s a look into three possible draft targets for the Bulls that would be worth trading up to get.
