Best moments of the Chicago Bulls’ 2019-20 season: Coby White lights up the Knicks
Coby White’s up-and-down rookie season got jump-started on a Tuesday night in November when the Knicks came to town. Playing in front of his college coach, Roy Williams, White struggled for the first three quarters. In fact, he didn’t even notch a made field goal until the fourth quarter.
But after that first bucket dropped, White smelled blood and went for the kill.
Coby went off, knocking down seven (seven!) threes in the final period. That was a Bulls franchise record for made threes in a quarter and also an NBA record for threes made by a rookie in a quarter. In other words, it wasn’t a bad showing for White.
His final three was the most impressive shot of the night. It was a step-back, 29-footer over fellow rookie RJ Barrett. Ultimately, White’s hot streak led the Bulls to what felt at the time like a big win over the Knicks at home in Chicago. It was a ridiculously fun moment.
