. Guard. Chicago Bulls. Tyrese Haliburton. 3. player. 24

This is a tough spot to be in as a Chicago Bulls fan. Deni Avdija is the guy the Bulls need and they were one spot away from getting him. Oh well. Chicago will have to settle for Tyrese Haliburton.

It’s unfair to Haliburton to say that any team would be “settling” for him. I feel bad about that. He’s the real deal and is my third-favorite overall prospect in this draft. He has a little Penny Hardaway in him in terms of his height, length and passing ability. Obviously, he’s not Penny. Nobody is. But he’s shown glimpses of some things Penny used to do.

Positionally, Haliburton doesn’t fit exactly what the Bulls need. Coby White is ready to be a building block at the point guard position, and Zach LaVine is still around at the two-guard spot. But Haliburton’s lengthy frame allows him to guard multiple positions on defense, and offensively, his ability to shoot the ball from deep and make quick passes allows him to fit into any lineup.

Snagging Tyrese Haliburton is a huge win for Chicago.
