2. Shaquille Harrison, Combo Guard

Another vastly unheralded guard that the Bulls made a good move on re-signing last offseason on the current roster is the 6-foot-4 and 190 pound defensive standout combo guard Shaquille Harrison. The Bulls took a low risk move last offseason to sign Shaq to another season in the Windy City with a one-year contract extension.

But the Bulls aren’t going to get Harrison back for another year for just around $1 million. He’s starting to bring more value to the table on both ends of the floor than that. In 43 games played in the season that is currently placed on pause (10 of which he started), Harrison averaged 4.9 points per game, 2.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.4 blocks.

Harrison also shot 46.7 percent from the field, 38.1 percent from beyond the arc, and 78.0 percent from the free-throw line. That was good for an effective field goal percentage of 51.5.

Moreover, Harrison sat among the top six best Bulls players this season in true shooting percentage (roughly 56.0).

There were numerous areas in which Harrison improved in shooting efficiency this season. For the first time in his run with the Bulls, Harrison started to eclipse the league average in field goal percentage (two percent better). He was also seven percent better than the league average in three-point shooting percentage, two percent better in free throws, and 18 percent better in free-throw attempt rate.

At the rate that Harrison is improving in his defense, two-way efficiency, and shot selection, it would not be too wise for the Bulls to move on from him this coming offseason if he’s willing to sign another team-friendly deal.
