Sometimes, choosing who not to draft can be equally as important as choosing who to draft. Here are 3 guys the Chicago Bulls should avoid in the lottery.

In all likelihood, the Chicago Bulls will end up in the draft lottery once again in 2020. Depending on the format of the league for the remainder of the season (if the season comes back), there’s a chance the Bulls could do something weird and find themselves outside of the lottery, but that’s highly unlikely.

If the Bulls end up in the lottery again, it’ll be another critical draft for the franchise. The fans are growing tired of rebuilding and flopping on a lottery pick would only further their frustration. That’s why choosing who not to draft can be equally as important as choosing who to draft.

Here are three projected lottery picks who the Bulls should avoid in the 2020 NBA Draft.

Bulls draft: Lottery players to avoid — Onyeka Okongwu

Onyeka Okongwu had an extremely impressive freshman season for USC and cemented himself as a likely top-10 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. The Bulls should steer clear, though.

That’s not an indictment on Okongwu by any means. He’s a sensational prospect and will likely make some team extremely happy. He’s athletic. He can finish around the rim. He can block shots. But the Bulls simply don’t need another young big man.

Wendell Carter Jr. is the future of that position for Chicago and Daniel Gafford is starting to look like a legitimate backup option. Okongwu deserves to go somewhere where his skills will be valued right off the bat, and Chicago isn’t that place.
