3. Lauri Markkanen, Power Forward

A common theme that you can notice on this list is the fact that most of these Bulls players didn’t have a great showing over long stretches of time in the season that is currently placed on pause. And likely the most disappointing player from the Bulls first 65 games of the 2019-20 campaign was third-year seven-footer and former Arizona Wildcats power forward Lauri Markkanen.

The 2017-18 All-Rookie Team selection was averaging 14.7 points per game, 6.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 0.8 steals, while shooting 42.5 percent from the field, 34.4 percent from beyond the arc, and 82.4 percent from the charity stripe. His shooting percentages dropped across the board compared to last season.

It seems like one of the biggest benefactors of all Bulls players for the front office changes is going to be Markkanen. He did have a very down third season in the NBA thus far, but that still has time to turnaround.

Although, Markkanen is definitely entering a key stretch over the next 12 months with this Bulls organization. He needs to have a better fourth-year in the NBA than third, as he will be in the final year of his rookie contract. He was up for a sizable contract extension by all indications at the outset of this season but he has given management more questions than answers with his production of late.
