During his dominant run in the NBA from 1984-2003, Chicago Bulls all-time great Michael Jordan had the number of three specific star opponents.

Given that the Chicago Bulls all-time great shooting guard Michael Jordan is still widely considered the best player in NBA history, it would be hard to fathom that he struggled against all that many opponents. Jordan won six NBA Championships with the Bulls, in a very dominant dynasty stretch in the 1990’s.

Jordan won a title in almost every single year of the 1990’s that it was possible for him to. He was beat by the Detroit Pistons in 1990 and he played baseball for just under two years in between. He would also have his second of three retirements during his playing days in 1998.

Take away maybe just one of those three retirements, and Jordan might have seven or eight rings to his name right now. Jordan did have that weird stint playing minor league baseball in the Chicago White Sox organization, namely with the Birmingham Barons, that could’ve cost him and the Bulls two titles.

But the writing was on the wall for the first Jordan retirement for all that was going on in his personal life. He still came away with a tremendous list of accolades when it was officially all said and done including six NBA Championships, 14 All-Star selections, 11 All-NBA honors, 10 scoring titles, six Finals MVP’s, and five overall MVP’s.

Here’s a deeper dive into the three NBA legends that all-time great shooting guard Michael Jordan dominated during his playing days with the Chicago Bulls (and a brief stint with the Washington Wizards).
