Adrian Griffin, Toronto Raptors Assistant Coach

A more experienced coaching option for the Bulls to turn to replace Boylen over Udoka would be the Toronto Raptors assistant coach Adrian Griffin. The 45-year-old Wichita, KS, native was brought on board as a Raptors assistant on the staff under head coach Nick Nurse prior to the start of the 2018-19 season

Griffin would be a part of a coaching staff that would win an NBA Championship in his first season at the helm. Nurse is now widely considered one of the best head coaches in the NBA at the moment. And Griffin would be the benefactor of seeing firsthand how the likes of Nurse and lead executive Masai Ujiri developed this ultra-successful franchise from the ground-up.

Prior to holding this assistant coaching job with the Raptors, Griffin was an assistant under head coach Billy Donovan with the Oklahoma City Thunder from 2016-2018. He was also an assistant coach with the Orlando Magic for one season, back during the 2015-16 campaign.

Griffin’s ties back with the Bulls ended last when he left and took a job on the Magic coaching staff. He was the lead assistant under former Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau. But he would leave the Windy City when Thibs did.

Furthermore, Griffin started with the Bulls coaching staff back in 2010. He really started his NBA post-playing career with the Milwaukee Bucks as their player development coordinator back in 2008. Most of Griffin’s playing days in the NBA were spent with the Bulls, Dallas Mavericks, and Boston Celtics.
