Coby White

Coby White basically had two separate rookie seasons. His first rookie season (October to mid-February) wasn’t all that impressive. He showed flashes of brilliance, but he was mostly a heat-check bench guy who wasn’t very helpful if he wasn’t knocking down threes. This isn’t an indictment on White, though. Rookie point guards often struggle, and playing under Jim Boylen can’t be easy. It’s just the truth. He wasn’t very good.

His second rookie season (mid-February to the hiatus) was utterly sensational. He posted absurd numbers and was finally named the Bulls’ starting point guard. He only got to start one game, though, before the season got shut down. Had White been able to finish out this season as the starting point guard, I think the world would be looking at him differently right now.

Next year, big things are in store for Coby White. His time is coming.

Verdict: Slightly underrated
