Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 2. player. Center. Rodman Teammate: 1996-97. Robert Parish. 24

One of the most notable NBA legends that was both a friend and a foe of the Bulls at different points of his extremely lengthy and accomplished career is the 7-foot-1 and 230 pound center Robert Parish. The last season he played during his NBA career was also his only stint in a Bulls uniform, coming during the 1996-97 campaign.

Parish was a whopping 43 years old when he played in 43 games (starting just three of them) for the Bulls during the 1996-97 season.

That campaign also happened to be the fifth of six Bulls title runs during the dynasty years in the 1990’s. Parish was partly to thank for that, but the most productive and efficient days of his NBA career were well in the rear view by this point. Although, technically this would be his fourth NBA Championship of his career since he did play in more than half of the regular season games and in two playoffs outings.

Parish spent most of his playing days with the Boston Celtics. The Hall-of-Fame big man, nine-time NBA All-Star selection, and two-time All-NBA honoree, spent 14 years in Boston, and then another two with the Charlotte Hornets and four with the Golden State Warriors. He started his career with the Warriors as their eighth overall pick in the 1976 NBA Draft.

However, all nine of Parish’s All-Star selections would come during his 14 years playing for the Celtics. And three of his four titles came in Boston, while the Celtics were still beating the Bulls in the 1980’s.

During those 43 games played with the Bulls during the 1996-97 regular season, Parish averaged a career low 3.7 points per game, 2.1 rebounds, 0.5 assists, and 0.4 blocks, while shooting 49.0 percent from the field. He was brought in by the Bulls more so to help along players like Rodman and Toni Kukoc and less so about his production at the age of 43.
