There are a number of teammates that Jordan had during his run with the Wizards that a lot of NBA fans often forget about. Even a couple of Jordan teammates that he had in the nation’s capital had other ties with the Bulls that extend many years after this all-time great shooting guard officially hung ’em up in the early 2000’s.

Former Wizards teammate and shooting guard Larry Hughes also played with the Bulls during the early years of former MVP point guard Derrick Rose’s NBA career. Hughes was a solid contributor to the Wizards efforts in a few spirited, but limited, playoff runs in the early 2000’s. He benefited greatly from getting to learn under Jordan in the early 2000’s.

However, one former teammate of Jordan with the Wizards that offers another interesting connection is that of the former Duke Blue Devils superstar big man Christian Laettner. Jordan and Laettner actually went to rival schools during their college days. But Jordan played his college ball around a decade earlier than Laettner. Jordan is a product of the North Carolina Tar Heels basketball program.

Although he was a career journeyman in the pros, Laettner was underrated during his playing days in the NBA. He was a member of the 1992-93 All-Rookie Team and was a one-time NBA All-Star selection. In four years of playing with the Wizards, Laettner averaged 8.0 points per game, 5.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.0 steals, while shooting 48.0 percent from the field.
