Chicago Bulls: Ranking 5 best Dennis Rodman teammates of all-time
1. Michael Jordan, Chicago Bulls
The Last Dance is currently revisiting all that went on behind closed doors with that 1997-98 Bulls team and all the success this group found during the dynasty years in the Windy City throughout the entire decade. And the main focal point of the 10-part documentary series is 6-foot-6 former North Carolina Tar Heels legendary shooting guard Michael Jordan.
There should be no doubt in anyone’s mind that MJ is the best teammate that Rodman ever had with the Bulls, Spurs, or Pistons. Of course Jordan is very easily argued that he is the best NBA player of all-time. Although the debate rages on as The Last Dance keeps releasing new parts each weekend that Lakers superstar forward LeBron James is better than Jordan.
GOAT arguments aside, Jordan didn’t necessarily have his best seasons at the back end of his NBA career when Rodman was his teammate. But Rodman’s presence obviously took this entire team to a new level. Especially while Pippen was dealing with injury problems in the 1997-98 season, Rodman was the perfect supporting cast to help out Jordan down low.
The first full year back for Jordan after his stint playing baseball with the White Sox organization was over was also his most productive as a Rodman teammate. He averaged 30.4 points per game, 6.6 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2.2 steals, while shooting 49.5 percent from the field and 42.7 percent from beyond the arc during the 1995-96 season. This season would also be one of the five MVP awards that Jordan would receive in his career.
