3. Scottie Pippen, Chicago Bulls

One of the most impactful legendary teammates that Rodman ever had on his career in his playing days was Bulls 6-foot-9 forward Scottie Pippen. Rodman and Pippen were the core part of the supporting cast built around the namestay in the Windy City that would get them to so many titles in the 1990’s.

In night one of The Last Dance, there was a lot of talk about the value that Pippen brought to the table during that 1997-98 season for the Bulls. And a lot of the guests honed in on what Pippen meant to the franchise throughout the entirety of the dynasty years in the 1990’s. His contract situation didn’t do the team many favors during the 1997-98 regular season, though.

On ESPN First Take in the day following the two-part premier of The Last Dance last weekend, Rodman was quoted saying that Pippen “was the best player in the world” in the absence of the Bulls best player when he tried to play baseball.

Moreover, Pippen was a seven-time All-Star selection, seven-time All-NBA honoree, 10-time All-Defensive Team selection, 1993-94 All-Star Game MVP, and a one-time steals champ. Pippen was also induced into the Hall-of-Fame with the class of 2011.

The best season that Pippen put together in the three that Rodman spent as his Bulls teammate was in 1996-97. Pippen averaged 20.2 points per game, 6.5 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 1.9 steals, while shooting 47.4 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from beyond the arc.
