1. Michael Jordan/Scottie Pippen

While this all-time great Bulls duo shouldn’t necessarily be included on the list of “special guests” from The Last Dance docuseries, they were the two most notable interviews of the night of the premier. Jordan and Pippen were the clear focus of the first two parts, and completely changed the tone of how the plotlines were drawn out.

Pippen was most of the focus of part two, and the main storyline was the friction that he had with the front office (namely general manager Jerry Krause). He was one of the most underpaid players in the NBA (likely the most underpaid in the entire league), but also had a controversial move of his own.

Instead of deciding to get surgery right after the Bulls won the 1997 NBA Championship and rehab during the offseason, Pippen elected to get it done around Training Camp. Jordan even felt like that was the wrong move. It did seem like Jordan and former Bulls head coach Phil Jackson understood why the frustration was boiling over with Pippen.

The two main narratives that were drawn out including both Jordan and Pippen were the significance of the latter of the two to the team’s success in the 1990’s. And the other significant plotline was how the former carried the team when the other was out with injury.

Jordan lauded Pippen often and the greatness of this combination is just as obvious to this day as it was during their playing days in the 1980’s and 1990’s.
