Larry Bird (and other former NBA superstars)

Amid the most impactful interviews/special guests that weren’t Jordan teammates with the Bulls in the first night of The Last Dance docuseries were the other NBA superstars that he faced in his great career. And the most notable of those former NBA legends that Jordan faced during his playing days was Larry Bird of the Boston Celtics.

The second part of the docuseries on the premier over the weekend really focused in on that 1986 playoff series between the Celtics and the Bulls. Bird was truly impressed by what Jordan brought to the table in that three-game playoff series, that still resulted in a sweep in favor of the Celtics.

Bird saying that the superstar that was taking over on the court for the Bulls in the first two games of that playoff series against the Celtics wasn’t Jordan but that he thinks Jordan was “God disguised as Michael Jordan” is obviously a testament to the production he had in games one and two. Jordan combined for more than 110 points in the first two games of that playoff series.

There were a few other impactful quotes from former competitors of Jordan and NBA superstars throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s. That list of other interviews included Detroit Pistons point guard Isiah Thomas, Los Angeles Lakers point guard Magic Johnson, North Carolina Tar Heels teammate James Worthy, and Celtics guard Danny Ainge.
