3. Steve Kerr

Newer fans know Steve Kerr as the championship-winning head coach of the Golden State Warriors, but he has some of the craziest overall NBA experience ever. He won three championships with Jordan’s Bulls and then two more with Tim Duncan’s Spurs. Then, after his playing career, he was a commentator for TNT and later was an executive for the Phoenix Suns. All of that before coaching one of the best teams in NBA history. It’s safe to say Kerr’s been around the block.

That’s part of what makes Kerr such a good interview. He has an incredible amount of experience to look back on as a player, commentator, executive and coach. The other things that make Kerr such a good interview: his humor, his thoughtfulness and his intelligence.

Remember when Kerr told the story about how MJ was basically too scared to take the biggest shot in the 1997 NBA Finals? (At least that’s how Kerr remembers it.)

Now we get to hear him tell more MJ stories that we haven’t heard before. What’s not to love about that?
