Salary sheet anchors are never what you want, but the Chicago Bulls reshaping front office has to deal with these three in particular.
The cap sheet for the Chicago Bulls is the least of the front office’s worries as they try to usher in a completely new-look executive staff. Team president Michael Reinsdorf initiated the shifting of the front office staff with the hiring of former Denver Nuggets general manager Arturas Karnisovas to be the next executive vice president of basketball operations.
Karnisovas will be replacing the former vice president of basketball operations and lead voice in the front office John Paxson. And it definitely took long enough to do so. Next up after Paxson is the task of replacing former general manager Gar Forman. On the morning of April 13, Forman was reportedly (official team press release) fired after 22 years on the job.
Forman’s role of general manager essentially was just a title after Paxson was given the keys to make most of the big decisions for the front office. Doug Collins also played a seemingly significant role in the Bulls organization, although many don’t know what that actually was.
Now that the Bulls have officially announced the hiring of Karnisovas, the process is underway for the reconstruction of the roster, coaching staff, and the rest of the front office. Finding a new general manager is next, and then decision time will come soon thereafter for what to do about head coach Jim Boylen and the current roster at hand.
Which players would the Bulls be fine with dishing out, either due to bad contracts or more appealing returns?
Here’s a deeper look into the three worst contracts that the Chicago Bulls have on the books this season.
