A seemingly shortened list of potential candidates that the Chicago Bulls are interviewing to be the next general manager under Arturas Karnisovas.
When it comes to the Chicago Bulls building up their front office under the direction of former Denver Nuggets general manager Arturas Karnisovas, the next focus will come to the general manager role. The Bulls hired Karnisovas to replace John Paxson and become their next executive vice president of basketball operations. Now the next step is finding a new general manager to replace the former one, Gar Forman.
Doug Collins should also be replaced this year, in whatever role he was holding prior to the Karniosvas hire.
Landing a lead executive like Karnisovas is a move that Bulls fans were waiting for since the start of the rebuild. The Bulls front office botched a lot of efforts to get back on track under the GarPax regime after the first major knee injury to former superstar point guard Derrick Rose. They couldn’t successfully build around D-Rose or star small forward Jimmy Butler.
At this point, the Bulls have not been able to successfully build around any of their supposed young core including shooting guard Zach LaVine, center Wendell Carter Jr., power forward Lauri Markkanen, and/or rookie point guard Coby White. Small forward Otto Porter Jr., combo guard Tomas Satoransky, shooting guard Denzel Valentine, and small forward Chandler Hutchison haven’t made the strides that they needed to in a significant fashion either.
The point for the Bulls in finding the right next general manager is to make sure that these previous mistakes are either eliminated or limited in the future under the Karnisovas regime.
Here’s a look into the three best general manager candidates that the Chicago Bulls could buy into after the hire of Arturas Karnisovas last week.
