All week long, Zach LaVine and the Chicago Bulls have been teaming up to give back to the local heroes of the coronavirus pandemic.
The partnership formed between Zach LaVine and the Chicago Bulls is allowing for the delivery of food and beverages to 2,000 healthcare workers at different Advocate and Rush locations across the Chicagoland area.
Early media reports showed LaVine doing his part to support Seattle, which is his hometown, amid the pandemic. It is there he partnered with Feeding America to donate 12,500 meals to support those impacted by the coronavirus.
As it’s been widely reported, the west coast was the first part of the country to confirm positive cases of the coronavirus. The virus has since spread across the country.
LaVine had been questioned in recent weeks as to how he intends to help the city of Chicago, as well. He had previously gone on the record, saying he wanted to find the best way to make a contribution to the Chicago area. It only makes sense for LaVine to team up with the Bulls organization to give back to the Chicago area.
LaVine is not the lone Bulls star to make donations to support the cause during the NBA’s hiatus. Among those specifically known to have made contributions to help the community are Ryan Arcidiacono, Denzel Valentine and Thaddeus Young.
It remains unclear as to how much longer the coronavirus pandemic will last. As such, the NBA’s plan to resume its regularly scheduled programming remains up in the air. The Bulls haven’t played an organized game since mid-March.
Donations are still needed, should anyone have interest in getting involved in LaVine and the Bulls’ effort to support the local heroes of the coronavirus pandemic.
