Re-drafting the 2006 NBA Draft Lottery picks
Dating back to the days where the Seattle SuperSonics were still a franchise in the NBA, they have to draft for positional need and best available. Some of the last draft picks for this franchise while they played in Seattle were talented big men. The likes of former Longhorn star forward Kevin Durant starred in the NBA, but former Toronto Raptors first overall pick Andrea Bargnani had various reasons why he was an overall bust.
Bargnani spent nine years in the NBA, with three different teams. Just under seven of the seasons he played in the NBA were with the Raptors. And then he had much briefer stints with the Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks.
In his career, Bargagni played in 550 games while averaging 14.3 points per game and 4.6 rebounds. He registered 18.9 career win shares and a box plus/minus rating of -1.6.
Not all the value that the Swiss 6-foot-6 small forward Thabo Sefolosha brings to the table is shown in his overall advanced numbers. The former 13th overall pick of the Sixers has played with five different teams. And he was a member of the 2009-10 All-NBA Defensive Team, when he played for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Over the course of more than one decade in the NBA now, Sefolosha has played in 869 career regular season games. He’s also played in more than 40 games in the midst of the current season. He’s averaged 5.7 points per game while shooting around 45 percent from the field in his NBA run.
Sefolosha has nearly 40 career win shares and a player efficiency rating of 11.4. He also has a career defensive box plus/minus rating of 2.0 and a defensive rating of 103.
