As media reports show the Chicago Bulls are interested in hiring a new top executive, one former Bull has a suggestion for the organization.

In an April 3 tweet, former Chicago Bulls star Dwyane Wade took time to share an idea with his Twitter followers.

The tweet, which has been retweeted and/or favorited by thousands of users, spread a bit like wildfire, prompting some people to question if he’s interested in the top executive position.

Wade announced his retirement from the NBA in April of 2019. Since then, he’s been trying his hand at various projects, including working as an analyst for TNT’s NBA coverage and building upon his wine label dubbed Wade Cellars.

It wouldn’t be long before Wade posted another tweet to clarify his remarks.

Take a look:

Still, Wade never reveals the identity of the individual that he would suggest. He merely denies the idea that he wants to be considered for the job.

Wade, a three-time NBA champion and 13-time NBA All-Star, wouldn’t necessarily make for a bad selection for the Bulls. He has the championship pedigree and work ethic working in his favor.

At the same time, the question becomes, to whom deserves credit for the Heat’s success: Wade or the front office staff? It opens up a unique take on the chicken-or-the-egg debate where people call into question which came first.

This is not a knock against Wade. But, of course, the Bulls would be wise to do its homework, especially given the fact that he has no experience as a top executive.

As it’s been widely reported, the Bulls are eying the services of several executives. Those include the Toronto Raptors’ Bobby Webster, Miami Heat’s Adam Simon and Denver Nuggets’ Arturas Karnisovas.

It’s no mystery why the Bulls are eying the executives from the Heat, Pacers, Nuggets and Raptors. They are among the organizations shown to get the most out of player development.

It remains unclear what executives would find Chicago to be a worthwhile destination, given the way free agents tend to view the the Bulls’ organization and what it offers.

Indiana Pacers GM Chad Buchanan has already made his views known as to how he prefers to decline the opportunity to interview for the Bulls’ top executive job.

If the 2019-2020 season ended as is, the Bulls would have another shot at a lottery pick in the NBA Draft. The past few years, the team has held the No. 7 pick. The Bulls haven’t had a ton of luck at developing its young talent over the years. It begs the question, how many lottery picks does it take to turn around a franchise? Sorry, not sorry. Asking for a friend.

The hope, for many, is that changes to the Bulls’ front office will make a difference.
