27. . Wing. New York Knicks. RJ Barrett. 3. player

So far, there haven’t been any changes from the original 2019 NBA Draft, and that won’t stop with this pick.

RJ Barrett was once looked at as a probable first-overall draft pick. He was the no. 1 player in his high school class, and he was heading to Duke with his buddies Zion Williamson and Cam Reddish.

Thanks to Zion morphing into a superhero at Duke and Morant taking the world by storm at Murray State, Barrett (rightfully) fell to no. 3 in the 2019 NBA Draft.

Barrett had an up and down rookie season. He struggled with efficiency on the offensive end, scoring 14.3 points per game on rough .402/.320/.614 shooting splits. So no, he didn’t make the NBA world fall in love with him during his rookie season, but he showed flashes of brilliance.

At 6-foot-7 with a 6-foot-10 wingspan, Barrett has an ideal frame for a wing in today’s NBA. He can guard multiple positions on defense, play on or off the ball on offense and rebound crazy well for his position. He also has the perfect attitude.

It would’ve been easy for Barrett to be disappointed at Duke playing in Zion’s shadow, but Barrett’s positive attitude never wavered. He was a fantastic teammate and a bona fide leader. The Knicks are lucky to have him, and would undoubtedly take him again with the third overall pick.

Original pick: 3
