Great news came about for the Chicago Bulls fan base on April 3 since ownership will begin the search for front office change.
News that fans of the Chicago Bulls have waited for so long now in the midst of the third year of this collapsing rebuild finally dropped from a very notable name in hoops media on April 3. The well noted “Woj Bomb” dropped some huge news that is much needed for this Bulls franchise to end the week as front office changes could finally be on the way.
Vice president of basketball operations John Paxson and general manager Gar Forman caught a lot of flack throughout the last few years. Ever since former head coach Fred Hoiberg was brought aboard in the post-Tom Thibodeau-era with the Bulls, the front office had a lot of question marks as to what direction this franchise was headed in.
However, the flack might finally be coming to an end, as GarPax’s time in the Windy City could finally soon diminish. A report on Twitter from ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski on April 3 shook the Bulls landscape. And it shook the landscape in a very good way. Apparently the front office search for a more powerful overarching voice is formally underway.
Ownership has discussed the plan with Executive VP of Basketball Operations John Paxson and GM Gar Forman, sources said. Paxson is likely to continue in an advisory role with franchise; there are expected to be more conversations with Forman about his future too. https://t.co/zLRRfjsFey

It looks like Paxson will “continue in an advisory role” with the Bulls and “there are expected to be more conversation with Forman about his future too”. Forman was essentially already demoted a few years back, giving Paxson more power in the front office.
Among the Bulls initial plans will be to seek permission to interview Denver Nuggets general manager Arturas Karnisovas and Toronto GM Bobby Webster, among other candidates, sources tell ESPN.

Beyond Karnisovas and Webster, here are some other names on Michael Reinsdorf’s list: Pacers’ Chad Buchanan, Heat’s Adam Simon, Jazz’s Justin Zanik, Clippers’ Michael Winger.

Woj dropped a few names that the Bulls could be looking at in their front office candidate search to replace GarPax. K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago also threw a few names into the ring, some of which were mentioned previous to this report from Woj, that could be considered.
Here’s a deeper look into the front office candidates during this Chicago Bulls executive search that is now underway that were mentioned by Johnson and Woj on April 3.
