149. Pick Analysis. HS-Uncommitted. Power Forward. Greg Brown. 4. player. Scouting Report

One of the other highly coveted and sought after 2020 high school prospect that remains uncommitted among the top 10 recruits in the nation for this cycle is the five-star Vandegrift power forward Greg Brown. Ziaire and Brown are going to be two of the most followed recruitments through whatever date this cycle ends in the midst of the COVID-19 spread.

But Brown is going to get two frequent comparisons at the college level and throughout the draft scouting process. One is going to be the fellow former five-star power forward recruit and Washington Huskies star Jaden McDaniels, and the other will be former Texas Longhorn superstar and Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant.

The ironic part about the latter comparison could be that both Brown and KD played with the Longhorns basketball program in their college years.

But the 247Sports recruiting profile for Brown does compare him to the New York Knicks second-year small forward Kevin Knox. That might be a bit of a shortfall since Brown could be a more versatile offensive threat out of the gates in college. He’s also a bit more gifted athletically than Knox.

The 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions do have Brown landing with the Longhorns over the Tar Heels, and the 10 experts are picking that by a very large margin. That would allow the Longhorns to keep Brown in their backyard since he is an Austin, TX, native.

Brown ranks as the nation’s No. 9 2020 high school prospect and the top power forward. Since there is the KD comparison in some respects to Brown’s game, the fit with the Oklahoma City Thunder (a team who could be needing a new face of the franchise next year) seems natural.
