1. Cristiano Felicio’s contract

It seems like Cristiano Felicio is a nice guy, so I feel bad constantly berating his basketball-playing ability, but sometimes that’s just how it has to be.

In comparison to everyone in the world who plays basketball (at all levels), Felicio is a really good basketball player. I mean, he made it to the NBA, which is a feat that can’t be overlooked. But in comparison to other NBA players, Felicio is one of the worst. That wouldn’t be a huge problem if he wasn’t on a 4-year, $32 million deal.

In Felicio’s defense, this is a bigger indictment on the Bulls’ front office than it is Felicio. Props to Cris for inking a lucrative contract. Either he has a savvy agent or he’s a lucky byproduct of an incompetent front office (maybe both?). But because Felicio makes roughly $8 million per year, he’s under an intense microscope.

It feels like Felicio has been under contract for 20 years, but unfortunately, there’s still one more season left on his deal. In the 2020-21 season, Felicio will eat up roughly $7.5 million of the Bulls’ cap space. Yikes.

There’s no nice way to say it: I really wish Felicio’s contract was an April Fools’ Day joke.
