In the spirit of April Fools’ Day, here are three all-too-real things that Chicago Bulls fans wish were April Fools’ Day jokes.

Happy April Fools’ Day, Chicago Bulls fans!

Going through life as a Bulls fan can often feel like one giant April Fools’ Day joke, especially for those that weren’t around for the Michael Jordan era (yes, I’m talking about myself).

Younger fans have had the joy (and heartbreak) of watching Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah and Jimmy Butler. But now, we’re stuck with nothing but a false sense of hope.

Here are three things that I desperately wish were April Fools’ Day jokes. But remember — these things are all too real.

3. The Bulls’ offense

It’s not a secret. Most people that watch basketball are tuning in to watch the offense. For lots of hoops fans, it’s far more fun to watch guys dribble, pass and shoot than it is to watch a defense successfully rotate. Offense is why people fall in love with the game at a young age.

Unfortunately for Chicago fans, the Bulls’ offense is abominable.

If there are no more NBA games played this season, the Bulls will end the 2019-20 campaign 29th in offensive rating. The only team worse than the Bulls? The Golden State Warriors. But it’s not like the Warriors are actually a bad offensive team. They’ve been without Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. So for all intents and purposes, the Bulls are the worst offensive team in the league.

You don’t need the advanced stats to recognize how bad the Bulls’ offense is. You can tell by watching a few possessions. There’s no flow, no creativity and no ball movement. Most of the time, Zach LaVine is forced into taking a hero-ball shot. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Is now a good time to throw in that Jim Boylen needs to go?
