The announcement of an NBA 2K20 Tournament that will include players-only would be fun with Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine.

Due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, the NBA put its 2019-20 season on hiatus after Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert was the first player to test positive Gobert was the first player to test positive for COVID-19 in the NBA back on March 11. It came right before a game between the Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder. And that was one day after the Chicago Bulls downed the Cleveland Cavaliers in their final game before the NBA hiatus, on March 10 by the final score of 108-103.

Potentially the most eventful league-wide effort to get the players back involved in some type of basketball, in reality or virtually, is a recent announcement of an NBA 2K20 Tournament. This NBA 2K20 Tournament will be pitting the players only against each other, according to a report from Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

Apparently each of the 30 NBA teams are set to have one player to represent in the tournament. There’s not any formal structure beyond that announced for the tournament, but it is fun to speculate for the time being who will represent each team.

In the case of the Bulls, there’s a few players that would be fun to see represent the team in the 2K tourney. Rookie point guard Coby White and center Wendell Carter Jr. both are known gamers to some degree and would be great in this tourney. But the name that sticks out above the rest for the Bulls players that are also avid gamers is shooting guard Zach LaVine.

In a recent Call of Duty tournament, LaVine was caught on a Twitch stream going crazy against his competitors. That Call of Duty tournament also included other NBA players such as Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell and Sacramento Kings point guard De’Aaron Fox.

LaVine set up an entire Twitch page to catch up with his gaming. He seems to be gaming a lot as he returned back to his hometown of Seattle, WA, while the NBA is still in its hiatus.

He’s also been busy since the hiatus started, including a noted donation of more than 12,000 meals to the city of Seattle. He also played his dog one-on-one.

Other noted gamers that are still active NBA players includes Boston Celtics wing Gordon Hayward, Minnesota Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns, and Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid. It would be fun to see some of those noted NBA gamers taking on someone like LaVine from the Bulls in the 2K tourney.
