Nov. 23: 116-115 win vs. Charlotte Hornets

A bad team in the Eastern Conference that LaVine and the Chicago Bulls weren’t able to beat consistently so far this season were the Hornets. This was the lone win that the Bulls managed to get over the Hornets. And on March 22, the NBA’s official Twitter page posted this highlight for LaVine to help basketball fans relive the night.

This is a different game than the one where the Bulls got 35 points and 17 boards out of Markkanen. If the Bulls got 35 points and 17 rebounds out of Markkanen in the same night that they got this performance out of LaVine, it’s hard to tell exactly what the final score would be. But it’s tough to imagine that really any team in the NBA (even the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers) would be able to beat them.

However, the Bulls did get a season and game-high 49 points out of LaVine in this wild one-point win. The three best of those 49 points came in the dying seconds, as the Bulls were able to draw a big turnover and allow LaVine to get out beyond the arc and hit the game-winning shot.

LaVine was also able to add four boards and two steals on this night.

And while this was only the fourth best game score that LaVine had this season, it was definitely the most valuable to his team’s winning efforts and the most memorable. LaVine couldn’t be stopped from three-point range either, as he shot a season best 13-of-17 from beyond the arc, which also set a few franchise records in the process.
