2. Cristiano Felicio, Power Forward

This move really comes down to whether the Chicago Bulls front office is willing to make the necessary move to buy out the rest of the contract of overpaid big man Cristiano Felicio. John Paxson and Gar Forman have to be willing to make the moves as needed this summer, but there might be front office shakeups on the way anyway.

The $8 million man that is Felicio is one of the most unnecessary parts of the Bulls roster at the moment. His money does come off the books during the 2021 offseason. But if the Bulls truly want to be able to take a step forward with a more complete young roster in 2020-21, then Felicio might have to go.

Felicio played in 22 games in the season that was just placed on hiatus, while averaging 3.9 points per game, 4.6 rebounds, 0.7 assists, and 0.5 steals, while shooting 63.0 percent from the field. A big man with a 6-foot-10 and 270 pound frame that is able to establish positioning in the post like Felicio can should be a much better distributor of the ball and shot blocker. But he’s not very coordinated and turns the ball over more than he should.

In the FIBA World Cup last summer, Brazil had Felicio often coming off the bench. There wasn’t much NBA talent on that Brazilian FIBA World Cup roster in the first place. That should show the Bulls management that Felicio isn’t worth an NBA contract, especially the type of money he’s getting right now.
