3. Coby White, Point Guard
The way that the 2019-20 season capped for the former North Carolina Tar Heels rookie point guard Coby White with the Chicago Bulls when it was placed on hiatus was nothing less than an absolute shame. White was starting to really find his rhythm out of the All-Star Break, and he didn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
White posted a career-best in points on two different occasions in a span of three days since the All-Star Break. And he got his first start of his NBA career in the last game that the Bulls would play before the league had to pause its season. The Bulls actually notched a 108-103 win at home over the Cleveland Cavaliers on March 10, in their final game before the hiatus.
Now nine days into the pause on the NBA season, Bulls fans have to be feeling like they want to see a rejuvenated Coby take to the floor and start lighting up opposing defenses again soon. Coby was really just starting to get his confidence and rhythm down, which is also why head coach Jim Boylen gave him his first start of the season when he did.
The nature of White’s play would also make it a lot of fun to watch him play in an NBA charity game. He is one of the young and fresh faces that could headline this rookie class for a long time. He is turning the corner at the right time, and anything we could do to get him back on the hardwood would be a great thing.
