Chicago Bulls: 5 best games from Coby White’s rookie season
4. Oct. 25 vs. Memphis Grizzlies
Result: 110-102 Win
The first occasion where Chicago Bulls fans really got to see what White could do during his rookie season came against the Grizzlies way back early in the regular season on Oct. 25. Bulls fans were hoping that this would be a commonality out of White during his rookie campaign, but that was a pretty unrealistic expectation right away.
One of the more impressive season sweeps that the Bulls could even have a thought of getting this season came in two wins over the Grizzlies. But the Bulls did catch the Grizzlies at the right time before Morant and second-year power forward Jaren Jackson Jr. really got this team going in the proper direction as a playoff contender in the Western Conference.
In this game, White posted 25 points, six rebounds, and two assists. He didn’t get a single steal or block, but he also didn’t have any turnovers and had just one personal foul. White also shot 10-of-16 from the field and 4-of-8 from beyond the arc.
In the second half, White started absolutely cooking the Grizzlies defense. He would finish this game with an insane true shooting percentage of 74.1 and an offensive rating of 148.
What made this outing so special for White was the fact that it was his second in the NBA. This win over the Grizzlies still ranks as the fourth-highest game score of any of the more than 60 that White played in this season. It is also one of the few games where he was able to post at least 25 points in a more limited role off the bench.
