5. Feb. 22 vs. Phoenix Suns
Result: 112-104 Loss
One of the most frustrating losses of the regular season to date for the Chicago Bulls came at the hands of first-time All-Star selection and shooting guard Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns on Feb. 22. But one of the few positive notes from that game was the huge strides that White was able to make coming out of the All-Star Break.
In this game, White would set a new career-high in points scored in a game. He would score a game-high 33 points off the bench. White added three rebounds, two assists, and one steal to his stat line. Unfortunately in the slightly over 33 minutes he played off the bench in this game, he would have five turnovers and five personal fouls.
Although White went nuclear off the bench for the Bulls, his team still fell short in the end. His more than 30 points in this game wasn’t able to offset the 29 points from Booker and 28 points from second-year former Arizona Wildcats center DeAndre Ayton. White didn’t get much help from his own team, as the next-highest point total came from shooting guard Zach LaVine who had 20.
This is a truly memorable game for White that has to be mentioned in the top five best of his rookie season to date. White shot 11-of-22 from the field, 7-of-13 from three-point land, and a perfect 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. This loss to the Suns was yet another example of White absolutely going nuclear for the Bulls.
