In the midst of a full week of an NBA hiatus due to COVID-19, we look back at the five best games from Chicago Bulls rookie point guard Coby White.

One of the most tragic parts of the potential early end to the 2019-20 regular season for the Chicago Bulls is the halt to the hot stretch for rookie point guard Coby White. Out of the All-Star Break, White was one of the hottest rookies in the NBA. He likely wasn’t going to compete with the likes of Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant or the New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson to win the Rookie of the Year honors, but he was on a great pace.

White was starting to show something similar to what Cleveland Cavaliers talented scorer and point guard Collin Sexton and/or Atlanta Hawks superstar point guard Trae Young did last year. He was starting to get hot at the right time, potentially signaling that he was figuring it all out in the NBA.

Volume scoring guards like White can take time to adjust to the pace of play and the scheming styles in the modern NBA. White has a skill set and the physical tools to really benefit him over the long-haul in the modern NBA, but Bulls fans had to know they needed to be patient with his development path.

As a whole during his rookie season, White averaged 13.2 points per game, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists, while shooting 39.4 percent from the field and 35.4 percent from beyond the arc. That’s at least the per game numbers White posted before the NBA officially went on hiatus after the March 11 slate of games and after Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for novel coronavirus.

Here’s a look into the five best games that rookie point guard Coby White had for the Chicago Bulls through their first 65 games of the 2019-20 regular season.
