2. Devon Dotson

  • College: Kansas
  • Position: Point guard
  • Age: 20

Devon Dotson is the engine that drives the Kansas Jayhawks this season. He’s the main reason they currently hold the No. 1 ranking in the country.

He has arguably been the best player in college basketball this season, but he’s not a lock to be drafted in the first round of the 2020 NBA Draft, mostly because of his height and shooting struggles from deep. On the season, Dotson is shooting a putrid 30.4 percent from 3-point land on 4.1 attempts per game.

Dotson makes up for what he lacks in shooting ability with what he has in quickness, ball-handling and decision-making skills. Despite being a poor shooter, he’s still averaging nearly 18 points per game. His ability to get to the rim off of screens or simply by blowing by his defender is really impressive.

Devon Dotson isn’t the kind of guy you draft in hopes of being your starting point guard, but he has the potential to be an elite backup — a position of incredible importance in the NBA.
