2. He can’t get practice right

Where things really got bad for the Chicago Bulls was when the mutiny first started at practice. The Bulls weren’t able to get off to a strong start in any sense of the words when Boylen first took over as the interim. That 56-point loss last season to the Golden State Warriors after the mutiny at practice made the situation so much worse with this organization.

Really no other NBA head coaches will find themselves in the situation of trying to make their younger players run wind sprints, do pushups, or use a punch clock to time into practice. But that’s exactly what Boylen did since landing in the Windy City last year. He just isn’t showing what it takes to get any of his players in the locker room to buy into his system.

Boylen is notably in favor of the “old school” coaching method. He seems to want his players to build their morale character more so than win games and develop their actual talents out on the floor. That old 670 The Score interview where Boylen spoke those famous words that we wear the “Bulls across our chest” was the climax of his famed dysfunction last season.

However, Boylen is finding a way to stretch out the embarrassment of this Bulls organization and their fans all the way throughout the regular season. He doesn’t have what it takes to even run practices correct.

I definitely can’t blame all the Bulls unfortunate injury luck on Boylen, but it wouldn’t hurt if he slowed down at practice either to let this injured team get a rest every once in a while.
