The Chicago Bulls are looking as bad as ever right now. Can they snap out of their funk tonight? Here are the latest odds and things to watch for.
Things keep getting worse and worse for the Chicago Bulls. I wish that was surprising, but it just simply isn’t. Tonight, the Bulls will try to snap their 8-game losing streak when the Washington Wizards step onto the United Center floor.
Is Jim Boylen going to learn?
The list of cringe-worthy things Jim Boylen has done in his tenure as the Bulls’ head coach isn’t short. In fact, it’s incredibly long. The latest oddity Boylen has taken to is calling timeouts in the final minute of the game when the result has basically already been decided.
Last night against the Suns, Boylen took a timeout with 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter when the Bulls were down by 10 points. That’s an indefensible decision for a coach to make. Your team has just lost its seventh game in a row in front of the home crowd and the players are likely embarrassed. They should be rushed off the floor as soon as possible.
Tonight, I would expect more of the same. If the Bulls are down relatively big in the final minute, Boylen will probably continue with his strategy of “coaching” until the final buzzer. I’m holding out a tiny bit of hope, though, that he’s learned his lesson and he’ll stop doing that. It’s simply foolish. What’s probably more foolish, though, is for me to think Boylen might have learned his lesson.
Only time will tell.
Bulls odds against the Wizards
All odds are courtesy of The Action Network and are current as of 2:30 pm CT.
I suppose that’s a fair line. The Wizards feel like they should be something close to a 5-point favorite, but playing in Chicago is worthy of a few bonus points. Regardless, I like the Wizards in this matchup.
Prediction: The Wizards win the game and cover the spread.
