Chicago Bulls: 3 trades with the Brooklyn Nets for Jarrett Allen
There’s a lot of commonalities across the board for the Chicago Bulls since they’ll be working with limited trade possibilities at the outset of the offseason. The Bulls can’t send a player like Otto Porter Jr. to the Nets at the moment since salary matching then becomes nearly impossible if Allen is involved.
The trade value of Allen is also still rather high since he’s a good young big man that doesn’t have a large price tag with his current contract. LeVert is about to become a lot more expensive, and Dinwiddie is going to be well into the double-digits in terms of dollar figure next year. The two Bulls players involved in this trade package don’t come with a large price tag at all, though.
What the Bulls are sending in return to the Nets includes center Luke Kornet and Hutch. Since Hutch could still be a key piece in trade talks with the Nets, and because he needs a change of scenery. And the Bulls replace the loss of Hutch in the rotation by landing shooting guard/small forward Rodions Kurucs from the Nets.
This is a low-risk move for both parties, as the Nets get to solidify their frontcourt rotation with a good floor spacer and rim protector as Kornet gets to return to the state of New York. He started out his NBA career in two seasons with the New York Knicks.
Just to finalize this trade deal for the Nets, the Bulls send a future second round draft pick to give future draft capital in other talks once Kevin Durant returns with Kyrie Irving.
