In the first trade package here between the Chicago Bulls and the Nets, a few different parts are moving. The Bulls initially start off discussions with the move to pull off a sign-and-trade deal involving point guard Kris Dunn. Even though he’s likely out for the remainder of the regular season, Dunn would offer value as a defensive stopper this summer in a sign-and-trade deal.

What the Bulls also throw into the discussions for this trade package are 6-foot-7 combo guard Tomas Satoransky and second-year small forward Chandler Hutchison. Sato isn’t getting his potential put to the best use under Boylen. He needs to be used more often as an aggressive offensive creator. But he’s utilized more as a spot up shooter than anything this season.

Hutch isn’t necessarily being utilized poorly with the Bulls of late. He just can’t stay healthy in the Windy City, as is the narrative for a number of other players on this roster. Maybe a change of scenery, and likely a better and more modern medical staff, could help Hutch reach his potential as a two-way role player on the wing.

The Nets are sending back LeVert and Allen to the Bulls. Salary matching is fine since the Bulls would have to swallow the poison pill provision from LeVert. His salary rises to just north of $13 million next season. Sato helps to match that salary. And Allen is still sitting around $2.5 million with the Nets
