1. Trey Burke, Point Guard
The 6-foot and 175 pound former Philadelphia 76ers point guard Trey Burke is one of the rather surprising options that still remains on the buyout market. A press release from NBA.com earlier this week showed that the Sixers waived Burke following the trade that landed them Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson III from the Warriors at the deadline.
While Burke is more than likely going to get picked up by a true playoff contention in either conference, he is certainly an option that should exist for the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls just don’t have all that much help at the point guard position right now beyond the likes of Ryan Arcidiacono and Shaquille Harrison deeper down the bench.
With Arcidiacono even getting starts with the Bulls now, they could use some depth help. Dunn might not be returning at any point this season, and he might never be suiting up in a Bulls uniform ever again. Harrison also isn’t much of a viable option as a solid outside shooting point guard for Boylen and the Bulls.
So far this season, Burke is averaging 5.9 points per game, 1.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists, while shooting 46.5 percent from the field and an impressive 42.1 percent from beyond the arc. Burke also added a player efficiency rating of 15.4 and 0.9 win shares to that mark while playing in just 25 games with the Sixers this season before they released him.
