1. Join a more fruitful young core

The Heat are building a solid young core, but behind only two players. Shooting guard Duncan Robinson will turn into a quality role player, but it doesn’t seem like much more. Most of the future of the Heat will revolve around the former Kentucky Wildcats 2019 NBA Draft first round pick and combo guard Tyler Herro along with the former undrafted free agent guard Kendrick Nunn.

What the Chicago Bulls could offer Butler is a deeper young core that should include yet another lottery selection to build around in the 2020 NBA Draft. Between rookie former North Carolina Tar Heels point guard Coby White, shooting guard Zach LaVine, center Wendell Carter Jr., rookie big man Daniel Gafford, and power forward Lauri Markkanen, there’s a lot of talented young players that are still developing on this team.

By the time that Butler would be ready to take his talents back to the Windy City, this Bulls young core could be ripening into a playoff contender year in and year out. Again, that hope is resting on the potential front office changes that Michael Reinsdorf would have to initiate starting this summer. That would also have to see Boylen out of the door in Chicago.

The Bulls are hitting their most difficult point in the schedule for the remainder of the regular season out of the All-Star Break. Their fortunes should continue to move closer and closer toward a high lottery pick in the 2020 draft. Maybe if the Bulls finally catch some luck in the draft lottery, they could land another starting quality talent in the first round.
