3. There will be new faces in the front office, hopefully

There were a lot of clashes in the past between Butler and GarPax when he was still a member of the Chicago Bulls. Prior to trading him to the Minnesota Timberwolves back in the 2017 offseason, Butler was the star player that this franchise attempted for at least a year or two to build around.

Even if the current Bulls management still feels as if Butler can never be the true go-to star on a legit title contender, that could change soon. Butler is already changing the perception that he is a star but not a superstar with the way he’s leading this Heat team this season. With the additions that the Heat made at the trade deadline, they could be a dark horse to take down the Milwaukee Bucks through their Eastern Conference playoff run.

But with all the discussion surrounding the rumor mill that the Bulls could be shaking up the front office, starting with Forman in the general manager role, the feel around this franchise should be vastly different a few years down the road. As long as the Reinsdorfs finally make the right move and shakeup the front office and coaching staff completely to turn around the perception of this organization, then a star like Butler could work his way back to the Windy City with less friction.

The same could be said for a former NBA star that looks open to a reunion with the Bulls in D-Rose. In general, the Bulls need to do their best to change the perception around the NBA before that fruitful 2021 free agent cycle arrives. The Bulls will be screwed if they can’t improve this culture and either fire or demote both Paxson and Forman.
