Chicago Bulls: 3 reasons a Jimmy Butler reunion could work out well
The recent comments of Miami Heat star small forward Jimmy Butler that he could be open to a future return with the Chicago Bulls is riveting.
Once the Chicago Bulls made the move to trade former star small forward Jimmy Butler almost three years ago now, they also lost much of any hope they had of making a legit playoff run at any point in the near future. Two and a half seasons after the Bulls trades Butler, they still have yet to come close to making the playoffs. This year will likely be the closest they get in that three year span, but they’re fading again down the stretch.
The Bulls hold the same amount of wins entering the All-Star Break this year that they did in 2018. Any hope of progress this season quickly diminished under the direction of head coach Jim Boylen. That trend looks to continue at the conclusion of the All-Star Break for the Bulls. As the Bulls head into a key Feb. 20 showdown against the Charlotte Hornets out of the All-Star Break, they carry a record of 19-36.
Heading into the All-Star Break with a record that is 17-games under .500 cannot be the way that the Reinsdorfs, John Paxson, Gar Forman, or Jim Boylen pictured this season going. The problem is that none of those four parties did anything to help this franchise reach a higher high.
Moving forward, the Bulls are going to new a more firm direction for this rebuild or just go ahead and shakeup the front office and coaching staff along with finding a star player. Butler might be that guy a few years down the line if he keeps this mindset of reportedly still being open to a return to the Windy before he laces ’em up for good.
Here’s a look into the three definitive reasons why it would be a good idea for the Chicago Bulls to get small forward Jimmy Butler back at some point down the line.
