A discussion that would be sure to start arguments amongst Chicago Bulls fan is whether the return of Derrick Rose would be a good idea.

The volatile conversation that entails the former Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose and his standing in the Windy City will be ongoing well after his NBA career is over. D-Rose was the youngest MVP in NBA history when he won the honors in 2011. He was one of the NBA’s best players over the course of three years before knee injuries started to ravage his career.

After the Bulls traded Rose in the 2016 offseason to the New York Knicks, his career really started to take a downhill turn. He played for the Knicks and the Cleveland Cavaliers for about a season and a half before he was able to turn it all around again after landing with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Rose continued his ascent back to prominence as more of a role player now after he signed out of free agency with the Detroit Pistons last summer. There was even some conversation surrounding him becoming a potential All-Star selection. But D-Rose won’t be competing in any events during All-Star Weekend this year despite it being hosted in his hometown.

The home of the Bulls, the United Center in Chicago, will host 2020 NBA All-Star Weekend. D-Rose had the opportunity to return home for the festivities to at least compete in the Slam Dunk Contest or the skills contest, but he elected to pass that up.

Here’s a look into the three definitive reasons why the reunion between point guard Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls in the next few years could workout well.
