Chicago Bulls: #FireGarPax trends continue on social media from fans
All the dysfunction swirling around the Chicago Bulls organization is getting put front and center during the All-Star Weekend festivities.
The Chicago Bulls are in a rough spot heading into All-Star Weekend, which will be hosted at their home arena at the United Center. This fan base is not happy with the results produced through the third year of this rebuild under the direction of John Paxson and Gar Forman. The Bulls fan base can’t be thrilled about how the Reinsdorfs handled their franchise from an ownership perspective.
With all the dysfunction and unrest surrounding this Bulls organization at the All-Star Break, the management is really under the microscope with all the media in town for the weekend festivities. The Bulls really only trail the New York Knicks and Sacramento Kings among the more dysfunctional organizations in the NBA at the moment.
From Bulls fans chanting “Fire GarPax” during an ESPN First Take segment that had shooting guard Zach LaVine on as a guest with Max Kellerman and Stephen A. Smith, to the trending hashtags on Twitter, social media is blowing up on this matter. The #FireGarPax Tweets were trending all over the country for much of the start of the weekend.
Even a handful of people in Bulls media jumped onto the bandwagon of shaking up the front office during All-Star Weekend. This is a trend that seemed to be brewing for quite a while now. And having no players competing in the All-Star Game, Rising Stars Challenge, of the Three-Point Shootout makes matters so much worse for the Bulls image.
There’s even a couple billboards that surfaced on social media stating the #FireGarPax trend.
Daniel Greenberg mentioned that #FireGarPax was trending throughout the state of Illinois heading into All-Star Weekend. This was a common theme that didn’t go away once the Rising Stars Challenge and Celebrity Game wrapped up.
The only Bulls player competing in the All-Star Weekend festivities is LaVine in the 3-Point Contest. LaVine isn’t even in the Slam Dunk Contest, which is a real shame given the fact that he might be the best in-game dunker in the NBA now.
