Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 25 Years Old. Gary Harris. 3. player. 73. Shooting Guard

Similar to the situation that the Chicago Bulls could’ve found themselves in if they traded the Denver Nuggets for the former Florida State Seminoles shooting guard Malik Beasley at the deadline, shooting help from this team could really benefit this rotation. But the Bulls could still make a deal for a shooting guard that could be on the trade block this season from the Nuggets.

The 6-foot-4 25-year-old former Michigan State Spartans shooting guard Gary Harris, like Beasley, isn’t having his most productive season in his NBA career this year. Harris is averaging 10.2 points per game, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.2 assists, while shooting 40.0 percent from the field and 30.0 percent from beyond the arc.

Harris is in the process is posting a career-low player efficiency rating this season, at just above 9. Down shooting and scoring numbers are the real reason why Harris is having such a poor season statistically and why his playing time is dropping with the Nuggets. But Harris usually benefits from more time on the floor with fellow guard Jamal Murray and Will Barton, who helps the spacing around him.

Murray spent a good amount of time on the sideline of late and Barton is getting mixed roles with the Nuggets this season. A slow start from the entire backcourt rotation for the Nuggets this season also didn’t help the production of Harris.

Buy low on Harris this offseason and GarPax could actually make a really savvy move to upgrade the Bulls roster. They need scoring help off the bench that can either play at the three in a small ball lineup or at the two behind rising star shooting guard Zach LaVine.
