A lack of solid usage with each respective team on this list is a big reason why all four of these players could be bought out in the first place. But the Kings have a potential recurring theme of placing gem long-term rotational pieces on the buyout market this year. If they were to put the former Indiana Hoosiers standout 6-foot point guard Yogi Ferrell on the buyout market, he should be scooped up right away.
Ferrell did play in 39 games with the Kings so far this season while averaging 4.5 points per game, 1.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 0.3 steals, while shooting 42.1 percent from the field and 30.5 percent from three-point land. While he does need to shoot better from range and at least attempt to make a bigger impact on the defensive end of the floor, Ferrell is about as good as it gets for a long-term option at guard that could surface on the buyout market.
He’s usually a reliable shooter from range, as he hits his three-point attempts at a clip around 37-38 percent over the course of his still short NBA career. The Bulls could use another young guard that could add a spark in the rotation on the offensive end of the floor. He has four career offensive win shares and a career value over replacement player rating rating of 0.6. There’s a lot of value for the Bulls if they were to pursue Ferrell in the buyout market.
Ferrell is another one of those younger guards that is already an NBA journeyman less than five complete years into his career. If the Kings buyout his contract, then Ferrell would possibly land on his fourth team before he turns 27 years old. He’s also played for the Brooklyn Nets and the Mavericks over his five seasons in the NBA.
